Show Venue from 2016 onwards. The British Border Fancy Canary Club’s Open Show is returning to Cheshire in 2016 and hopefully will remain there for the foreseeable future. We have been staging our show in Fleetwood for the past 25 years, but we feel it is now time to move on due to the ever increasing cost of the Marine Hall and falling numbers of entries. This decision has not been taken lightly and has been difficult to find an alternative venue to meet all our needs. Good lighting, Bar and Refreshment facilities and ample car parking. Also good accommodation and easy access to the Motorway net works. We feel we have found this in the way of Frodsham Community Centre. Frodsham is a small market Town on the edge of North West Cheshire. The Hall is less than 3 miles from Junction 12 of the M56 Motorway. There are five major Hotels within a 5 miles radius. There is also plenty of B & B’s in the area. Next Year it is the International Show and we realise that people may feel they have a lot further to travel to Cheshire which will be the case from the North but shorter distance from the South. From the north it is further millage wise but considering the time it takes when leaving the M6 for Fleetwood, it will be no longer time wise travelling down to the M56 and once on the M56 it only takes 10 minutes to J12. Manchester and Liverpool Airports are only half an hour away. Also Runcorn Railway Station is on the Main London to Liverpool line and all Trains stop at Runcorn Station which is only a ten minute taxi ride from the Show Hall. I have at present been able to arrange a special rate for next year at The Forest Hills Hotel (Best Western Group) and The Holiday Inn, Runcorn. Both Hotels are only two miles from the Show Hall. Both Hotels are offering DBB for £50 p.p. per night. Min 2 night’s. A £10 single supplement applies. Further information will be available later this year. Places of Interest in the area. Chester is only 20 minutes away by car. Cheshire Oakes Outlet Village with over 140 shops less than 30 minutes by car. Lady Heyes Antiques Centre and Caravan Park, (very handy for anyone with a Caravan or Camper Van), just a few minutes by car away from the Show Hall. Lady Heyes is well worth the visit with 3 Main Halls selling antiques and quite a few small novelty shops and a Micro Brewery. There is also a Cafe on the site. R. S. Norman.
